As the world changed over night, we were forced inside and our beloved gyms were shut indefinitely, as were many of our favourite hangouts.
Since then, so many people were left in the dark as to what was going to happen and for how long. As a Lifestyle Fitness Coach, I wanted to do something to help. Watching people struggle to exercise, and my fellow fitness professionals have their place of work cut off, I knew I had to do something.
I contacted my trainers and other fellow trainers to come together to create a plan for keeping people physically and mentally fit and healthy.
And together we put our heads together and knew we had an amazing idea to help keep people moving and active. I’ll get into that momentarily. But first I want to tell you a story about a conversation I had with a friend a while back. We were discussing exercise and we got on to topic of movement and how the lack of movement is a disease.
Picture a storm, waves are crashing against a rock face, the water is moving rapidly and is strong and powerful. Same with wind, imagine hurricane or cyclone, powerful and fierce. Both are energising as well as intense.
Now I’m sure you have heard the story of the explorers who discovered a cave with possible treasures hidden inside, only to enter and never return. Many have said that death lingers in the cave or that it was haunted. Only to find out that the stagnant air that hadn’t moved or circulated for decades had become toxic. When the explorers entered, they choked on the stagnant air. Same when you see dead still ponds, that nothing can survive do to lack of movement.
